Product development
Blackroc's original roots are in product development. In 1990 the company launched the RO series of rugged cases and peripherals for the Psion Organiser 2. This product was very successful, providing a level of rugged handheld computing at a price which was unbeaten in the market.
Although now discontinued it was still on sale until the late nineties, when it was overtaken by newer platforms with more advanced operating systems, but nowhere near as rugged as the RO. The RO was so tough that it became the mainstay data capture device of the Royal Navy, and was also used by the Royal Air Force and British Special Forces.
From these roots Blackroc grew and diversified into the development of a whole range of AIDC products including the following:

All of the foregoing developments have given Blackroc an in-depth understanding of the core AIDC technologies involved and a rich breadth of experience, which enables the company to offer a wide range of development services, to customers and vendor partners alike. The company is currently involved in the development of key peripherals to be incorporated into the best selling handheld terminals of some of its key vendor partners.
Blackroc is also involved in the development of some sophisticated large antenna arrays for logistics and access control using RFID which will be made available via our RFID integration team in the near future.
